Johnny Cupcakes on Melrose in HollywoodGrand Opening August 2, 2008
People actually camped out for days to be first in line.The Los Angeles Johnny Cupcakes store
opened at 3PM on Saturday, August 2, 2008.
The lines were down the street and around the corner
all day and into the night.
The last in line entered the store nearing the midnight hour.
Johnny Cupcakes was there to greet everyone in line!
Sock Monkey and his human ventured up to Hollywood on Saturday
for the August 2, 2008 Grand Opening of the
Los Angeles Johnny Cupcakes store on Melrose Avenue.
Johnny Cupcakes is definitely a family affair.

For those who are not familiar with Johnny Cupcakes,
he sells T-shirts with cupcake graphics.
It is NOT a cupcake shoppe.
However, for his Los Angeles Grand Opening he did
supply the crowd with mini gourmet cupcakes with a mini
Johnny Cupcakes cuppie topper.
It was a long wait to get in the store, but it was worth it.

The T-shirt she is wearing was a sold out Limited Edition.
The inside of the store resembles a kitchen from the 1950's.
It was designed with precision detail down to color and hardware.
The check out stand resembles a working stove.

Yes, we actually entered the store at 11 PM at night.

I was there. I was 13th in line. 2 days camping out. It was insane, but so so worth it!
Oh wow! 13th in line? I envy you. I wanted that Limited Edition Johnny Cupcakes T shirt. I bought the red LA shirt instead. It was a fun day. Johnny Cupcakes is a class act. His family is so nice too. Very impressed. He works hard for his money.
