SOCK MONKEY - LIBRARY TOUR INSTRUCTIONS

Dear Librarian,

Sock Monkey would like to visit your library!

Sock Monkey, the star of his own stories, That Darn Yarn and Little and Large, is the DH Press Library Ambassador, and is embarking on his U.S. tour. With this unique program, your library gets local and national publicity, and Sock Monkey’s true-life adventures make a great project for your young readers. Just in time for Summer Reading programs!

Sock Monkey’s Tour Instructions- It’s Easy!If your library would like to host, you are added to his travel itinerary. Sock Monkey arrives
in his special Travel Box. Travel Box includes the guest of honor, his book, a postcard to mail, library poster, activity sheet, disposable camera and a return shipping label.

Your library schedules Sock Monkey’s Photo Shoot! Capture candid photos of Monkey reading to the children, holding the door open, assisting with research, whatever he is doing. You will find him to be very quiet, respectful, and courteous. A perfect library patron, in fact. Use up all the pictures in the camera.

After his visit, Sock Monkey goes back in his traveling box with his camera, and everyone’s well wishes. Shipping label and postage are included. Upon his safe return, we post your
photos on his online travel journal, located on our Dark Horse library web page. You may revisit his adventures online, and watch his updated tour of other libraries throughout the country.

If you are interested in participating in Sock Monkey’s Library Tour, please contact Kelly Macsisak at Dark Horse Books. kellym@darkhorse.com, or 503-905-2326.

Sock Monkey can’t wait to pack his bags for his next trip!
