I love Sock Monkey books. Arne Svenson and Ron Warren are long time collaborators on Sock Monkeys. Arne Svenson is a famed photographer based in New York. Ron Warren has been the Director of the Mary Boone gallery for 24 years. He began his sock monkey collection in 1985, which has grown to a number of 2025 and still counting.

In 2002 photographer Arne Svenson published his first book of sock monkey portraits from Warren's collection entitled "Sock Monkeys: 200 out of 1863." Each photo reveals the sock monkey's individual personality. The book is what Warren calls "the little sock monkey bible."

The later Svenson/Warren project published in April 2008 features "Sock Monkeys 950 out of 2000." According to Svenson, "[He] used an enormous camera and focused on the eyes," he said. "Of course, in this case the eyes are buttons."But everyone knows buttons are the windows into a doll's soul."
