Sock Monkey and the Boundary Marker - 100 Years Older than Me! by Beaker31

This is a cute photo. British Sock Monkey is sitting atop an 1877 Boundary Marker from the Borough of Nottingham.

The marker is a century older than his human, known on Flickr as Beaker31.

It's worthy of note that a few years earlier, in 1869, red heeled socks were created by the Daddy of Sock Monkeys, John Nelson when he patented his sock machine. In 1890 John Nelson began producing the work socks that would later be used by Mothers to make Sock Monkey toys for children during the Great Depression of the 1930's.
