Sock Monkey is dressed as the Easter Bunny because Easter's almost here!

Sock Monkey and the Boundary Marker - 100 Years Older than Me! by Beaker31

This is a cute photo. British Sock Monkey is sitting atop an 1877 Boundary Marker from the Borough of Nottingham.

The marker is a century older than his human, known on Flickr as Beaker31.

It's worthy of note that a few years earlier, in 1869, red heeled socks were created by the Daddy of Sock Monkeys, John Nelson when he patented his sock machine. In 1890 John Nelson began producing the work socks that would later be used by Mothers to make Sock Monkey toys for children during the Great Depression of the 1930's.

You can learn more about Sock Monkey history here.

Sock Monkey and Traditional British Phonebox by Beaker31

Traditional British Phonebox,
originally uploaded by Beaker31

Our British cousin Sock Monkey laments that these traditional British phonebox's are hardly ever seen anymore.

We noticed that a couple of years ago when we went to visit friends in London. The only red phone box we saw was in Covent Gardens and was there for the tourists.

Times have certainly changed. Now that everyone has cell phones, or so it seems, public phones are a thing of the past.

Thanks Mr. Monkey for being a wonderful tourguide.

A fellow British Sock Monkey takes us on a tour and shows us a traditional British Postbox.

We notice that our little Sock pal is wearing an adorable hat with a red pom pom that matches the postbox. Tres chic!

Thank you for showing us around Mr. Monkey! You're a real cutie!

These photos of the Sock Monkey Nativity were taken "around the corner from 37th street in Austin" according to the Flickr photostream of Brian Birzer Photography. Apparently, a local set up this adorable Sock Monkey scene for the Christmas holiday season.

In the photos, Sock Monkeys play Baby Jesus, the Angel Gabriel, Mother Mary and Joseph and the Wise Man.

The photo with the mini Sock Monkey as the baby Jesus is my favorite. Sock Monkeys are love!
